Timber expands and contracts with moisture levels in the air. Just shave bit off to create an expansion gap. I think you can get away with just trimming the ones that you've left loose for access.
on a hatch you would have a say 2-4mm gap and a 12-22mm lip for the trapdoor to sit on
if in your senario the whole boards are removed meaning they have to slide to unlock or are not interlocked what exactly is your setup??
