Read the title of this thread and try to stick to it but while you are talking about it my last word on that in this thread is that the kind of 'foreigner' I want over here shouldn’t be arriving illegally by boat, unchecked and claiming asylum. The 'foreigners' I want should be needed by us and thoroughly checked and vetted before being allowed over here to work.

It simply doesn't work like that.

But boat people can't be vetted. They can't apply to come by any other route so can't be checked. If they want to come here we force them to do it by boat.
