yes, the O rings are the seal and the metal clip stops the system pressure from shooting it out.
just post if you get any more probs ( or we've failed to diagnose the wrong part lol)

You will need to turn off the water supply to the boiler if changing the DHW one!

Unless you want to get wet that is!

just want to say cheers for the advice guys i chandes the 2 thermostats over as you guys suggested and its now working perfectly.
