The apartment I lived in in Germany in 1971 had a night storage heater ( no gas in the building ) which had weather predictive controls of how much heat was stored over night for the next day.
Did it work ?. I bought a fan heater for when a cold day followed a string of warm days. Fortunately when a hot day followed a string of cold days the heater did not over heat the room on the hot day.
The controller also radiated a lot of RF interference when storing heat ( phase angle control ) which blotted out AM radio reception.
