Problem solved. Managed to get a new pump drive off ebay for £34, fitted and a working boiler again! Thanks for your replies..Dave.

Sorry pump drive pcb. The boiler was not working properly. The radiators were on regardless of the setting on the thermostat or on the timer on the boiler.

You'd already replaced the pump drive PCB, so I don't understand why replacing it again was the solution to the problem.

I think I see what's happening - you've started referring to the "Gledhill BoilerMate II" as the "boiler". Since you also have a 'real' boiler, how is anyone supposed to know which one you're referring to, and when?
