My rising main comes in from a plastic pipe. Does this mean that the copper side of the stop cock has to be bonded to an earth spike or something similar? Thanks
If,after the stopcock the installation pipework is of copper then yes it must be bonded back to your MAIN EARTHING TERMINAL.
All bonding clamps must be accessible for test/inspection.
Using an individual earth spike is the worst thing you can do, as has been said, it needs to connect to the same point as everything else i.e. the MET.
