What Boris said

I would like to make it absolutely clear that I am not attracted to arcane procedures such as the prorogation of Parliament. As someone who aspires to be the PM of a democratic nation, I believe in finding consensus in the House of Commons'

What Matt Hancock said:

'There is this idea from some people that to deliver Brexit we should suspend our parliamentary democracy, we should prorogue parliament. That goes against everything those men who waded onto those beaches fought & died for - and I will not have it'

Gasbanni will love that one given his obsession with WW2

Boris said this about Gordon Brown.

Gordon Brown becoming Prime Minister without a general election was a “scandal” and “nothing less than a palace coup”

Notch the problem is unless we point out and take these liars to task (whether they are labour or Tory) then we are to blame. People actually accept the lies because its one of their side saying it.

Channel 4's head of news has defended the right of journalists to call out politicians for telling lies.

We want more of this so we can get back to debating policies. I like policy from labour and Tories but I can only vote Tory or Labour- therein lies the problem.

Motman earlier on posted: Brexit is good because Rees Mogg says food, clothes and shoes will be cheaper.

When I proved that was not true, I get sarcasm as the response.

Thats where we are.
Lies dont matter even when provided with the evidence, so long as it agrees with their decision.

Looks like the FT Editors have drawn a line in the sand - Parliament must bring the Government down.

Boris Johnson’s suspension of parliament is an affront to democracy
MPs must pass a no-confidence vote in the government and trigger a general election

they could have backed a deal.

I've heard 3 interviews with those looking to block this and at no point was there a goal. The labour spokesperson, said:

- we are against stopping Brexit
- we are against no deal
- we are against a conservative deal
- we want a general election, but we wont commit to being leave or remain.

Do people actually realise that unless a no deal looks highly likely - the EU wont improve the offer, which has been rejected 3 times.

Should we just give up and cancel A50? I think that is what a lot of parliament really want. In which case why did they strongly vote to trigger it?

I don't care if we leave or remain. there are advantages and disadvantages of both.

- the EU wont improve the offer, which has been rejected 3 times

But the deal brexiteers want is a trading relationship that continues as we currently have allowing business to trade without incurring extra costs.

That is simply impossible.
The EU cant offer brexiteers a deal that achieves frictionless trade because brexiteers want regulatory divergence and border checks.

It is the reason Brexit without economic damage is not deliverable.

The EU are telling the truth, single market integrity is of more importance to them than economic damage from the UK leaving with no deal.

Do you negotiate in your line of work?

If so - how do you find someone's bottom if you don't test it. How do you test it if they think you are bluffing?

The backstop can be suspended, timebound, independly adjudicated etc. etc.

Bojo - just needs a slightly better deal, he can get over the line against a backdrop of no deal.

Then we have a deal. My worry is those who don't like the deal, are saying so because they want to remain.

NEWSFLASH: Politician tells a few fibs.

In other news, Bears are found ****ting in the woods and the Pope confesses to being a Catholic.

Do you negotiate in your line of work
I understand one thing:

In every negotiation in business, the fall back position is back where you started.

If the UK threaten no deal, and it carries out its threat.....where will it end up?

The EU will be able say: 'sorry you are now a 3rd country, so we want border checks, rules of origin checks, etc etc.
And what will we do: we will go back and negotiate a poor deal.

ojo - just needs a slightly better deal, he can get over the line against a backdrop of no deal.
The ERG have already said they wont accept it.

My worry is those who don't like the deal, are saying so because they want to remain
Thats the typical blame remainers.
It is the ERG that will block.

Dont forget the WA is not a trade deal.
When we start that, expect a poor deal, lose fishing rights, Gibraltar etc etc.

When you fall out with someone and the trust is gone, you grab what you can. It wont be pretty.
