Just as an addition to all of this. Looks like they'll have taken a cold water pipe off of the bath taps to run up to the shower, so if you're going with the bath shower mixer then that pipe can be disconnected down below and shower removed. The pipe's then loosened out of the wall and taken away and the hole repaired temporarily with piece of white tile, a piece of white plastic, piece of stainless steel or even just waterproof tile adhesive to fill/cover the hole left when the pipe is removed just until the shower space is renovated.
