D&D when done properly is bomb proof. The grab ability of the bonding compound is astonishing. The way we do it means that there is a solid line of adhesive every 400mm on every board, plus additional adhesive where required.
It ends up a lot more solid than any stud wall and by Christ almighty, I challenge anyone to try and remove the stuff!
It is by no means perfect but it is fixed extremely solid when done properly. It is tremendous for lining window and door reveals, a real boon when squaring up bad walls and it can serve to stiffen (by a large amount) poorly built and cracking, block-work walls.
We did an experiment where a block return partition wall was a bit iffy.It was fractured and there was movement. We boarded just one side with D&D. The results were excellent. Once both sides or the wall were trapped in, the wall was solid.
I challenge any of the doubters to fix a board properly and then try and remove it a week later. Do the same with wet plaster and stud walling then come back here and comment.
