As usual, Himmy, you're way off. There's a big difference between tolerating something and actively promoting it. Homosexuality has been tolerated since the 60s - not a problem and definitely a good move. But when we get it forced down our throats (jeez, did I just say that!? ) and actively encouraged to impressionable young people - that's completely different. More than a little sinister too.

You can promote tolerance. It's not promoting any political or sexual view.
Sure, homosexuality was legalised in 1967, but, the age of consent was 21, not the 16 for hetrosexuals.
It wasn't until 2000 that 'in private' (a condition applied to homosexual acts to be legal) included hotel rooms and other rooms in dwellings occupied by another person, even if that person was in a different room.

Additionally, it was 2017 before homosexuality became legal on merchant shipping.

There are numerous other examples of how LBGT rights were not legalised until very recently.

I suspect that you are still rather intolerant of LBGT people, and see promotion of tolerance as promotion of activities with which you disagree.

BTW, rainbow refers to LBGT's not just gay people.
