Population increase is also because people are living to 90-100 instead of dropping dead at 50. Growth has already slowed down. And housing pressure also caused by more people living alone - not so long ago people rarely lived alone in old age, now it is the norm.

Yes, immigration is a cause of population growth, but the government has full control over that now, so should not be a problem. But we do still need people to work in our industry.
