So I watched it. Not one economic argument other than the tired and debunked soundbite of taking back control. He mentions EU research funding is used to sway the political opinion of academics - that's so laughable as like in the US the public purse funds basic research from which we get so many breakthroughs.

What is a progressive education he mentions? It's another throwaway undefined term which gets the base fired up. Use terms that have become weaponised - you don't to provide analysis or definition, just lob the term in and then move on.

He's reaching out to fellow quitters who he knows can relate to the low key rhetoric. It's a bit like rousing a village mob, knowing that your audience will be jacking off repeatedly to replays of the same vid.
