That would come under low earners John

Your arguing my case for me.John... immigration only makes the rich richer...

wrong

holding down wages for ordinary working people is what has made the rich richer.

Compare Philip Green's yachts (he has bought several) with the pension schemes of his former shopworkers.

unskilled/lowskilled / low earning

by which Bodd says he means such people as

"HGV drivers, electricians, nurses, bus drivers, solicitors clerks, bank cashiers, ambulance drivers, physiotherapists, roofers, radiologists"

I was once told while working down the South of France that it was believed that hiring a Polish plumber and paying him his travel costs and time traveling down in his van from Poland with accommodation was cheaper than hiring a French plumber. More than once I heard that said

It's almost as if we had a government whose intention was to run down the NHS to improve profits for offshore tax-dodging Private Health businesses.

Can such a thing be possible?

The NHS is indeed going down the pan and the architects of that demise are the overpaid communists employed by them.

Yes compared to City professionals footballers, Docters, solicitors, IT specialists.

I know of electricians and plumbers working up London for £150- £160 Per day.

John .... I get what your saying but they are two opposite ends of the scale.. Do you really believe cheap labour from Eastern Europe has no bearing on wage stagnation?
It affects the low paid - labourers and the like. I'm guessing they are all rich now and we should see wealthy labourers everywhere.

Ive never seen any tradesmen lose work from Eastern Europeans here in Sussex

in fact good tradesmen have been constantly busy down here all through the financial crisis to the present.

I do know one builder who sometimes uses (used) Lithuanian labour -he paid them £75 a day and he said they worked like stink from 7.30am to 5.30pm

I know a few tradesmen that have done stints in London -they wont for less than twice that.

Id guess you are talking about commercial projects or agency -not domestic on a price.
