My condensate pipe on my WB 18i froze up last winter, is there a similar risk to what you have just explained???You have to be careful when using rainwater downpipes as if the soakaways or underground drains are blocked with moss and silt, when there is a downpour, water will back up the condensate waste this can completely fill a wall hung condensing boiler is seconds!! I have see more than a couple of Vaillant Ecotecs written off by this kind of event!!
