Hi,

I have a British Gas RD542i condensing combi, last week I emptied the system, tiled behind a radiator, put the rad back and filled the system. The radiator was on the first floor.

Yesterday I had no pressure in the system, so I checked around the radiator and nothing, no leaks, no signs on the ceilings of leaks.

This morning no pressure again. I lifted the floor in the kitchen where the boiler is and found a dead rat, an no leaks. After nearly heaving whilst moving the rat I placed the floor back. There is an amount of Hep plastic pipe in the heating system downstairs.

I have now checked every other radiator I can get under and it leave me with two in the lounge. The lounge has a solid oak floating floor which is T&G and ends and sides, so I would much rather not lift it up.

ANY ideas appreciated before I ruin my wooden floor.

WHat was the estimated time of death of the rat?
Seriously, they are known to gnaw through plastic pipes to get to water. You could pressure test your pipes , which would show a leak much faster than the combi gauge. (Hire the tester for a few pounds/day).
If you find a pressure drop, you'd probably want to expose what pipes you can easily, and cap them temporarily, to see where the leak is.

 Agree with Chris. You could as a cheap basic test pressurise system and close off ch isolating valves on boiler Leave for a couple of hours (if necessary) and check guage for pressure drop.
