I have just moved house and found two socket covers previously fitted have broken screws - snapped off in back box with the broken screw left in the box. Is there an easy way of removing these or do I need to replace the boxes with all the damage that may cause to the new decoration?

If there is enough screw to grip with pliers then you could try to unscrew the remainder. I have found that if the screw is loose a small screwdriver tip can be used to turn the end and wind it in or out. It not you can drill it out with a 3mm drill bit and re-tap the hole with a 3.5mm tap.
