My son has just moved house and found that the previous owner has kindly left a broken stub of a key in the external barrel of a patio door lock. This has been broken off flush with the lock barrel, and we can't pick the broken piece out because, we think, it has been turned through ninety degrees before being broken off.

The double-sided 'Mila' branded lock barrel is part of a multipoint locking system and the internal key works fine so he is still able to lock the door safely from the inside. We've unscrewed the bolt from the side of the door which looks like it holds the barrel in place but still can't pull the barrel out. In the circumstances we would be very grateful for some advice regarding how to get the broken piece of key out or remove the lock barrel and replace it. Many thanks in advance.

you need to rotate the good key to the left a bit to remove the lock if that dos,nt work go a bit to the right

If you can turn the key inside then you should be able to turn it slightly as big-all says and slide the cylinder out.
Turn the key slightly to either the 5-o-clock position or 7-o-clock position.

If you have a spare key, use a screwdriver to turn the outside section back to the vertical, then insert the spare key into the inside and push. This should move the broken section out sufficiently to get hold of it.
