Broken Power plug

Hi, my plug (24v)for the cordless charger charger has broken. Can I just plug in a 12v plug to the charger or will it explode? or perhaps just take longer to charge? I have enclosed image of the broken plug and the 12v plug plus the charger. All I know about electics is how to plug it into the wall, sorry

No, it won't work; you need a 24V one.

If less than the 400mA it will take longer to charge.

It won't work. You need a PSU with the same voltage (24v) and ideally the same or greater current rating (400mA).

but you need to check the size and type of plug that goes into the charger body. CPC have versions with 2.1 or 2.5mm low voltage connectors (it's the diameter of the middle pin).
