BT master socket removal

Hi,
I need to remove my BT socket (permanently).

If I snip all the wires into it, will it do anything to the Broadband point on the other side of the wall? Thanks.

No,as you are on fibre so the cable into the old master socket will be dead

Openreach will also come to remove the old line (usually from a pole in the road to near the top of your property) so you'll be fully disconnected. They took their time after I'd requested it but turned up eventually. There was a 'do not climb' order on my pole so the operative wrapped my old cable around it and then secured it with yellow tape. The whole lot went when they replaced the pole..

Thanks. We're in a 2015 house, so the cable is underground. Once I remove the socket there won't be any old cable showing, so not a problem
