Budget sander under £50

I would give a +1 to Makita Sanders. I've used the cordless Random Orbit Sander r and it's a really neat tool. For the OP, it's outside the £50 price range but you can get the corded sanders for around £60. Considering some merchants have "flash sales", depending on time criticality you may get some money off. Do shop around as you make significant savings against Screwfix and toolstation. I've had Makita tools last 14 years so worth the extra cost especially if it's a small amount.

Edit: clarified sander type.

Its geared I think so random but stays rotating because of the direct rotational drive

Ok, so it sounds like my Rotex and has the same sanding patterns

I only use the right hand mode for rapid stock removal and then the left hand mode for regular sanding.
