Look, the thread is going round in circles, we get what you're saying but if you really want to check then you'll need to open things up and see what's behind the finishes, so that will be an expense and lots of work and you might find things are afoot which need further destructive works and expense to put right so it begs the question do you want open that Pandora's box or just get it signed off and deal with any issues that may arise in the future. It seems a no brainer to me which route to take.

It was done with a grant from the local authority accessible homes team by a builder they chose. We definitely feel pressured as the project is 6 months past the finish date and it really does feel like they are just trying to get it off the books.

The local authority head surveyor who has been in charge of this project so I guess assessed by their standards. They gave the builder many chances to fix the problems but he never did. They fired him as they said the work was so poor,unsafe and well over schedule, the project was supposed to be finished in January but there are still major problems with it. The wet room tiles started falling off the wall when the grab rails were used in the shower for example.

The local authority in house building services has been to fix some of the lesser issues such as broken sockets, loose fixtures including taps and doors and fixing the radiators to the walls properly, but they have not given us a start date for the tiles and other larger problems.
