Buteline.

It's from New Zealand.

Yeah apparently it was so wildly successful over there that it became the standard and is now available here.

But good like trying to find any kind of evidence that it's even slightly popular in New Zealand.

What does that fitting cost and is there always enough room to use it?

Yes good points but if you're using plastic anyway you're gonna want a fitting to join to the copper tails

And the Buteline crimp fittings are smaller than Hep and Speedfit

But any British system will fit without any forethought.

What's the problem using a 16mmx15mm elbow versus a bulky 15mm push fit? Because it requires "forethought"?

If we were comparing to copper end feed I would agree with you mate

I don't usually come on the open forum and I won't for a while.
Ask bengasser any further questions. X

Problem would arise when any future works are carried out due to the tube size not being standard across the board.
An emergency repair becomes a problem due to 99.9% of van stock don't cater for 16mm pipework and fittings.

Dammit do I have to be careful with my swearing cos there's kids around or something? On a DIY site!?!

The butey has now been replaced with copper and hep,Now have hot water flow in the bathroom :D, pulled loads of butey out of the flexi ducts some was kinked and some crushed down like berny the elephant had been walking on it.

I had Buteline installed in a house rebuild 6 years ago and have experienced no end of problems. Leak after leak after leak. I currently have 4 rooms with big holes in the ceiling and must have repaired 6 others. Buteline claimed it was a crimping installation issue but it’s clearly not. I’ve subsequently talked to several plumbing companies and it turns out the problem is down to Buteline not handling hot water over about 70 degrees. One installer pressure tested to 10 bar no problems at all - put hot water through it and it all starts leaking. Buteline now make it clear that it can’t handle hot water and give you a sticker to put on your boiler to run it at 70 degrees. I’m going to end this nightmare by ripping the whole lot out as it is clearly not fit for purpose...
