Is it possible to buy just the solenoid coils? Seems rather tricky…

I’ve had a single coil fail on my inlet valve in my washer dryer, and it seems somewhat silly that I can’t seemingly buy a replacement coil, which to me, feels like it might run to £10-15?

But no, I have to buy the full inlet valve at £120…

Are the coils not simply sold alone? Anywhere? Not even direct from manufacturer? Is there a reason?

I ended up buying a full inlet from eBay at a reduced rate, so that’s good. But in theory I can put a new coil on my old inlet and have a fully functional spare, or sell it. IF I can get a coil that is…

Heads saying buy the cheapest inlet from eBay with like for like coils and take one from that…

Just seems strange I can’t seemingly, easily acquire the coils… or maybe I can and I’m not looking hard enough/for the right thing?

Is it a Bosch? Mine has electric valves that are different from the common ones available from the online appliance spares suppliers.

It was much less than £120

Miele can also be awkward with parts.

The example in the photo, is from my Samsung Washer Dryer, discussed here https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/samsung-wd80n645oow-washer-dryer-not-getting-hot….639981/, the photo shows a ~£80-125 quad inlet valve with 4x identical solenoid coils.

One single coil has failed, and you can see from the picture I have remove this.

If the individual coils were readily available, I could simply drop a new coil on and off we go. But alas, they do not seem readily available. My query is as to why?

An example of an individual coil can be seen here, £6 for 2…

I just found this on AliExpress: £5.97 | 2pcs 279834 Dryer Gas Valve Dryer Coil Ignition Solenoid Coil Kit Replacement Exact fit for W hirlpool,Maytag,Kitchen Aid Dryers

I’m just intrigued mainly.

I'm sorry but I cannot tell you why. There is what is supposed to be a universal coil here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/38563232...MI1Onv5LD_igMV3pdQBh3HNDr4EAQYDyABEgKvF_D_BwE but I don't know if the domensions or supply voltage are the same as yours. Perhaps you could ask the seller. The other thing I was thinking is that you could perhaps buy a cheaper complete single assy. and just use the coil again though you would need dimensions for comparison.
