Cables in kitchens

I did it as an apprentice. Fixing some trunking right below a fuse box. The drill wasnt going in so I persevered until the wall exploded :LOL:


My boss wasn't ammused

Also, assuming cabling has been installed in the correct wiring zones (yeah right!) then it should never fear the risk of being drilled. Then again, would the average DIY'er think twice about drilling above a socket etc?

Compared to industrial galv trunking.... ;)

I marked out a wall (middle of bedroom wall) for a socket, then drilled my first hole. It rattled a bit, so I pulled out & looked. I had gone right between two 15mm copper pipes. :eek:

An exceedingly close shave.
