No, the 8mm to 15mm copper sleeve (I'm calling it a reducer, don't know the correct term) was leaking where it fitted over the 8mm pipe.

So you threw that away and just went straight onto the 8mm tube with the compression reducer in the base of the TRV?

Think he means the reducer was never soldered so just popped off.

I realise that now. At least I've learned a few things in the process, found a decent plumbers merchant and sorted a leaking radiator. Which is what this place is all about
