Can I store things in a thermal store cupboard?

Hi, as the title suggests we’ve moved into a property that has communal heating. A brand new thermal store cylinder was installed into our only cupboard (except a random cupboard in the bathroom that has old heated towel rails inside?) and the cupboard is pretty deep, as in you need to walk inside to reach the cylinder. Maybe about 0.75m before you reach the cylinder. The cupboard is always warm but my question is, can I store things in there? I’ve only ever had combi boilers. I have no idea if it’s gas, I presume it is? But unsure. I’m desperate for some storage for coats but worried this will restrict airflow, i wanted to put a freestanding rail in there but unsure. Is it just a wasted cupboard despite space infront of tank?
Thanks

What "things"?

Towels, no problem. Medicines often have "do not store above X temperature", which may well be permanently breached so that would be a no..
