Can the honeywell st9400a be used inplace of st6200a?

Hello,
I know that the st9400a honeywell timer is a direct upgrade fro the st6400 however I wonder if I can use it to replace my ST6200a 1009 which has stopped working?
Or any other suggestions, i would like to avoid any wiring but will If i have to.
