When the abuse begins, the argument is lost.

You lose! You have five seconds to reply, or you lose the next argument too

I agree with you woody but isn't there someone around who kept claiming to have 'won ' an argument if no-one responded to his posts? can't remember who it was.

I remember who it was, it was that tosspot Joe 90. He claims to get ALL his info from the internet - which says a great deal about him really!!

Well, to be honest, I had many discussions on subjective issues (life after dead, feelings, principled of conduct, etc) so I don't think that's a right difference.
Want to discuss it?

According to Wikipedia...

The term tosspot, one of abuse, has come to be a synonym for 't*sser', someone who 't*sses' or m*sturbates. However, it originally referred to commodes as used in medieval London. This is evidenced by the final song in Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare., viz:

But when I came unto my beds,
With hey, ho, the wind and the rain,
With toss-pots still had drunken heads,
For the rain it raineth every day.

on recent news that wikipedia's founders are creating a new site as the present one has gained notoriety as being widely innaccurate due to it's allowance of users to add items, Now i wonder who has been adding stuff to back up their claims?? Surely Holmes you can't mean........

Well joe-90 really knows how to throw ****, so it certainly describes him

In a book I got it says Chat is "easy familiar talk". Discussion is "examined by argument". Since most posts start with a point of discussion but transfer (degenerate) to chat. I can only think that the "powers to be" are wishfully thinking and hoping that we move to a higher order of dis'course or is it discourse' . There cannot be a General Discussion because a result has to be achieved by discussion which is not a generally known argument. Arguments should be based on facts not generallisation. Therefore the use of General Discussion is a the use of conflicting terms. However, if you were to think that the discussion topics should be general i.e. Arbitrary(capricious, despotic), then that is acceptable. So, a better title would be Arbitrary Discussion. What I have just given you is an example of a discussion i.e. an examination by argument, now let the chat begin

Would you like to elaborate (work out in detail) your answer as a point for discussion because I think it's only an opinion at the moment.

Kendoe, you have just shown the moderators of this "General Discussion" that it is not possible to do what they say and that it profoundly (deep study. great knomledge) proves my point.
