I did notice, however, wondered why you wrote as if it was an ongoing thing.

you think that cigarette companies heaped billions of pounds into sport sponsorship, popular with teens, out of a sense of charity?

They need to recruit lots of young addicts to replenish their customer base, because their most loyal older addicts keep dropping off the perch.

They are trying to attribute the lowering new smoker figures to the fact ciggies are no longer on display. Am sure raising the age to 18 helped too... The sports thing was so long ago, I doubt has any impact on the figures of todays new smokers.

When I used to eat meat, I eat all sorts of creatures; squirrel, rabbit, snake, cat, dog, ostrich, goat, kangaroo, bison, horse, donkey, rat.

And all sorts of odd body parts, ear, snout, cheek, brain, lungs, liver, kidney, tripe, thymus, heart, trotter and probably a few I have forgotten.

So why all this "ewwwwww" about eating one dead animal over another? It's the same, surely?

Clearly they are not... people become attached and in the UK a lot of people will see animals in different ways - some as food, some as pets.
We're not all just machines who eat everything and anything.

Yes it is to some extent. But are emotions not important too? For example, we use puppies to sell bog roll, we use them to help the blind and police. Does it not make sense that we don't want to eat man's best friend?
