Hi have a mondeo 96 1.8 just installed new brake shoes and im having a lot of trouble getting the drum back on, i have adjusted the automatic adjusta but the drum still wont go on could any one please help me

If the adjuster is fully back (knurled quadrant type)? I guess the handbrake cable is pulling on slightly?
Failing that, there may be a heavy rust rim on the inside of the drum, right on the edge thats best ground off.
