Scudo (Expert/Dispatch) Rear Shoe Auto Adjuster Questions?

I didn't know if the housing comes with filter - I assumed not. Do they normally have one? Maybe there's one in there, but it's not obvious from the Ebay listing. I've already bought and received a genuine filter and seal from another source, so I'm prepared if there isn't one. As said, if housing does include filter, at least I'll have a spare.
Every 1 I've had always had a filter in it, but I make sure it has before ordering

A good smear of grease on the rubber seal often sorts it, newer ones have Torx screws I think.

Ive never usually been that lucky. The cases often seem to be just so slightly out of round after a few filter changes.

I never even fight them nowadays. A complete unit change or not at all.

Finally had a spare hour or two to fit the new fuel filter housing. All went well, and no leaks so far. One thing about the old filter housing not sealing now and in the past, as well as others having problems with this type of housing not sealing - the new housing has minimum and max marks to show how far the lid securing ring should be tightened. Maybe the old filter had them and they wore off, but perhaps other mechanics have been wanging the ring too tight and distorting things on my van. Especially with no markings for guidance.

Anyway, being partly colour blind I added some Tippex blobs as red doesn't show up too well for me on a black background - especially in the gloomy depths of the engine bay. I will make sure in future it's always tightened to the mimimum when I renew the filter, and if any weeping afterwards (filter housing, not me) will tighten slightly more taking into account the max marking. Hopefully sticking to this will avoid distorting the housing or seal.

Also, Carmen you were right. There was a new filter inside the new housing. I had to open it up to check - would have been a nightmare using it if there wasn't a filter in there. Thanks again to all for their advice.
