Caravan Set Up

Can someone please explain to me a basic set up for a caravan site.
IE SWA feeding Caravan spike, which feeds caravans.

SWA size for 50m run feeding spkie for 4 caravans. Are the Plugs for caravans 16A or basic 13A? Is SWA protected by RCD?

Just the basics would be appreciated

no such thing as a "basics" setup..

caravan sites have their own section in the regulations as well as the rest of the normal regulations applying to them..

Well then, I'm personally not prepared to advise any further on this installation.

You need to employ someone who is familiar with this sort of installation.

There are far too many considerations, and regs to comply with to design this installation on an internet forum.

Caravan parks are very dangerous places if wired incorrectly, hence the reason they have their own section in BS7671.

Also I assume this is not a DIY job, so the EAW act also comes into play here.

16A waterproof sockets.
TN-S supply to the "spike"
underground cables burried more than 600mm and unless mechanically protected, away from any area likely to have tent pegs or ground anchors in it..

no more than 4 hook ups per "spike", so that connecting cables are not run across the pitches..

sockets mounted 0.5 - 1.5M high unless there is risk of flooding or excess snowfall

each socket to be INDIVIDUALLY protected by an overload and an RCD, the RCD disconnecting ALL live conductors including neutral

socket outlet protective conductors shall not be connected to ay PEN conductor of the electricity supply. For a TN-C-S system, for a supply with a PEN conductor the protective conductor of each socket outlet shall be connected to an earth electrode and shall comply with the requirements of regulation 411.5 for a TT system.

In the case of a TT supply the cable will need to be RCD protected by a time delay RCD to provide discrimination.
As RF says above, it is the time to call in someone who knows what they are doing.

Caravan sites are the odd one out. Two RCD's one in caravan and one provided by site and both duel pole 30ma @ 40ms. There is a big discussion going on at the moment about use of a TN-C-S supply to a building and from there to supply a caravan site on the IET forum and it is complex.

I think there are errors in the BS7671:2008 and as such I think you need to read it yourself.
