Carrie Johnson 'struggling to breathe'...

One off the reasons the NHS struggle lots of customers need to be more responsible for they own health. Loads needing help and expect a pill will cure everything and every illness. Smoking, over weight, lack of excises, ignoring diabetes, not taken NHS workers advice, years abusing their own bodies etc no wonder the NHS is in such trouble.

And has now spent almost a week in hospital

Pretty nasty, I hope she recovers quickly

Sounds like at least 1 on here would be far happier if she died. I'm no fan of hers, I think she was responsible at least in part for Boris's downfall, she sniffed the power and dispensed of Cummings.

Nonetheless, I wish her well and a speedy recovery.

She said she suffered with a "nasty" chest infection and was "horribly, horribly ill" for 18 days

Sorry to hear that. This year there have been waves of flu, Covid, RSV and Norovirus. I have noticed several local people being ill.

I probably had RSV this winter, which was quite bad.

The vaccine is very new and was only offered free to pregnant women and over-75s, quite late in the year. I hope that in future it will be offered more widely, and before the winter season starts.

The vaccines are very effective in preventing severe illness and death among the vulnerable. A Norovirus vaccine is being trialled.

"Boris Johnson's wife has reflected on her failure to get the flu jab: "I very possibly wouldn't have spent the last three weeks horribly, horribly ill had I got it."

Indeed.

If she's really ill, I don't think it's a story for cheap shots.
You are talking about Ellal, you know. Nothing is too cheap for him when he hears bad news about someone on his extended hate list. He's wished worse on me in the past.

So I guess nobody is concerned about the fact that she's moaning now about a respiratory disease after having organised a party during lockdown?

That was the cheap shot!

But then some people have short/prejudiced memories ;)

I don’t wish anybody ill

I don’t like Boris Johnson, but I didn’t wish him ill when he got covid.

I might struggle with Trump though…..

I dont suppose anyone knows why the RSV vax is only available to pregnant and the elderly. And the maker is not mentioned on the NHS website - wonder why.

I will wait while the usual suspects frantically google it and come back like they knew all along.

The vaccine is very new, and was only approved in September in UK, and in EU and US at about the same time. It is not yet being produced by the billion.

The assessment (not just in UK) is that it reduced the risk of death and serious illness most of all in newborn infants and in those aged between 75 and 80, and some people with other vulnerabilities or is certain occupations.

UK NHS vaccinated about a million people in October and November.

Can you guess who they were?

You might like to look at the thread "RSV" started on here in November.

Some troll called aveatry tried to derail it with nonsense.
