i have had extension built with 100mm cavity and fullfill 100mm cavity batons for insulation between facing brick on outer wall and thermalite block on inner, i have been told now i may need insulated plasterboard also to meet regs, does anyone know what thickness insulated plasterboards i will now need and if i have to use celotex or polystyrene insulated boards,
  • I HAVE USED KNAUF 32 CAVITY BATTENS,
  • Low thermal conductivity of 0.032 W/mK gives superior thermal insulation .
thanks

Since June 2022 walls now require a U value of 0.18 W/m².k.

Roughly translated - you should have gone up to 150mm cavity thickness if you intended using glass wool cavity batts (Dritherm etc).

Insulated plasterboard thickness will depend on the quality of insulation, stuck to the board. Probably 30mm (high power) insulation plus board thickness.
