Hello
I am trying to get to the bottom of my current damp problems and have attributed them to being because the external ground levels are very high (the same as internal level) and a previous owner had the cement render go straight to ground level, and in some cases 4-6 inches below in and with the high ground levels I believe it has bridged them damp proof course. There is no bell cast drip bead or plinth in place either. Im also investigating whether the render used is a cement render. I've been reading lost about cement render on solid brick walls being problematic and not letting the house breathe. My whole house is rendered from top to bottom, is there anyway of finding out if the render used was cement or lime based?
