changing window sizes

Hi,

As part of the work we are planning on a property we are thinking of reducing the size of the bathroom window (at the back of the house). It will allow us to put in a separate shower. It should be fairly easy to do as the new window will be under the same lintel (just less of it).

Do I need planning or building control permission?

Just remember if the window is a fire exit for that room the window can not be more then 1100mm from floor high.

Fire escape not required in bathrooms/wc's. You should be fine
