Can't find the seller on eBay so can't really look at the cable/listing
Odd.

What happens when you do this:

A word of warning - that site looks dodgy for the following reasons, Prices are too good to be true, there is no valid registered office address, or indeed a Valid street address for contact - it's probably selling either stolen or counterfeit gear, it shows all the tell tale signs of a dodgy site, unless the site owner can demonstrate otherwise! Let your human instincts tell you.

Site domain is registered to a PO Box in the UAE.

The shopping cart allows negative quantities of products, which is such a huge fail that there is no point looking any further.

Not disputing the site is awful, but I don't know what domain lookup service you use.....

It's not THAT cheap.

But the prices per meter tend be be higher when bought in smaller quantities.

TLC 100M Reel of 10mm² T&E = £1.45 per meter + VAT

TLC 10M Cut of 10mm² T&E = £3.70 per meter + VAT

Go into B&Q or Wickes instead.

Only if you want to pay through the roof!

Quite; but then again the website may be registered in the name of the web developer who is in the Emirates on behalf of the business in the UK selling the cable.

http://www.whois.com/whois/abbottsway.com & https://who.wildwestdomains.com/whoisstd.aspx?domain=abbottsway.com&prog_id=wildwestdomains

I have also found the following two company's, although this may be a red herring and they may be totally unrelated to the ebay/abbottsway.com site.

Name & Registered Office:

ABBOTTSWAY ELECTRICIANS LIMITED

Either way, you could end up getting genuine or fake cable from the ebay seller - you likely won't know until it's to late.

However both this & this listing list the conductor at the bottom of the listing as "Conductor: 1.0 - 2.5mm² - Class 1 solid copper conductor to BS EN 60228:2005 (previously BS6360)" even though advetised as 10mm² T&E. A genuine copy & paste mistake hopefully. ;)

Ive had several lengths of Atlas Kablo (spelling ?) flex fail shortly after install, or at install. A bore hole company bought a huge drum of 2.5mm 4 and 5 core, and I had several call backs to check supply to top of bore hole. Our supply always fine to the top, but the flex was open circuit. Dissecting the flex found the copper snapped inside.

FFS. You only need 10metres of the stuff. Walk into any local electrical distributor and he'll cut you the length you want off the drum. The price difference won't be much, and you'll get a decent product.

"economically priced" cable sent for testing a few years ago was found to have various other metals in the copper along with flecks of ash. The copper had been re-cycled by burning scrap cables in a furnace and collecting the molten metal from the bottom of the furnace leaving the ashes from the insulation floating on the top.

The brand name was redacted from the report.
