I have bought some B&Q trv's for a couple of the upstairs rads, only about £4-5 each. Are these any good? Have seen some other on the web by Drayton or Honeywell for between £10-15 each. B&Q ones are reversible so can be fitted on either flow/return.

What are the drawbacks of "cheaper" TRV's.

Cheaper= slower response, wax filled...Expensive=quick response, liquid?filled. :) But it`s academic, in my opinion..used to ask customer first.Blimey my response was quick, better go and do some work

Put your hand in your pocket and get some Drayton trv4's or the top Honeywell (vt 200 i think). As with most things- you get what you pay for.

cheap is cheap for a reason ;)

I've been using Danfoss Ras Ds for many years with no problems. They now have an adjustable head so that you can set it according to flow direction, better than being reversible I think.
