Yes, but the original question was about radius end ironmongery, and we fit a helluva lot of that these days (for example there's one 40-odd storey apartment block I know of where they originally specified radius end locks and keeps throughout). Foxhole mentioned drilling in air if l used a spade bit after drilling out latch hole. How about drilling curve before latch?

How can you accurately mark the curves if latch isn't in place ?Bang a cork in the hole , drink the contents first though , it'll dull the pain
