Chopes, how disrespectful

You mean, like if it had already gone through the drafting stage, and its next step would have gone to committee for review?

If Chope hadn't stopped it, having (he claimed) not even known what it said or what upskirting was.

And later would be to go to the Lords for further review.

Here's a riddle for you:

Which Bill makes the greatest changes to UK laws that we have ever seen, and Chope doesn't want it to be debated?

(that's an easy one)

)

Irrelevant: 600-odd other MPs did, yet had no opportunity to debate it.

Again according to the Beeb, t's the (lack of) process he was objecting to, not the issue that so clearly has got you all flustered.

Do you think he is in favour of PMBs?

Do you think he is in favour of Parliamentary debate?

If it was such a good pmb, and so widely supported, would it not have been easy to get it taken up by a minister?

Which is exactly why any law should be properly scrutinised, not just rushed through for populist reasons.

I hope you take the same view with the ministerial power grab when it comes to Brexit or when Hunt is trying to force through ACA legislation. Didn't see much objection on that count but by God people get their knickers in a twist over this.

Tell JD.

yes it does.

But you wouldn't answer the first time so I expect you don't want to say.

If that was true, he wouldn't be a PMB enthusiast

but he is

And he would be in favour of debate

but he isn't

Are you?

He's made a hobby out of filibustering and blocking, and has been criticised before.

This one attracted widespread criticism especially among politically aware women and their associates on Friday mid-afternoon, prior to the mass media picking it up.

Subsequently, the displays of underwear have brought the events to the attention of a wider audience, including people who have no interest in politics or sexual predators.

AFAIK, although he has been strongly criticised for his actions in the past, this is the first time there has been such wide public condemnation.

On Friday, his buddy Philip Davies filibustered for hours so that there would be insufficient time to deal with this bill.

He's now moaning about being criticised, and saying that it isn't fair. H describes himself as a "victim" https://blogs.spectator.co.uk/2018/...upskirting-im-the-victim-of-a-tory-stitch-up/
Some people think that he isn't in favour of Private Member's Bills, but he's put forward dozens of his own

His Conservative chums are very cross that this will be a tory vote-loser for them in the approaching general election, as it reinforces the view that tories are a bunch of hidebound old dinosaurs that care more about Parliamentary ritual, and getting one over on the opposition, than about protecting the common woman (or man)

How does this bill protect anyone ?

God forbid some horn hound in second school wants to look at some fanny. As most lads that age think about nothing else...

How many people exactly go around filming up women's skirts ?

Your usual left wing virtue signalling. I wouldn't be surprised if you try and argue that there are less perverts in the labour party versus conservatives...

Again, if this was a labour mp you wouldn't be posting it.
