In any case I think people are confusing carman with sir G. I don't recall carman saying he had 3 degrees.

The obvious question being why would anyone do 3 degrees, unless they f*** it up the first 2 times.

Bsc, MSc, PhD. Not unheard of or even unusual in some subjects. You don't even a to go for Dphils or EngDs or other less common types.

In some areas you can get awarded PhDs based on publication alone so you can rack up several just by doing the paperwork.

Hell anyone with a PhD almost has to have one already.

PhD is a doctorate. If someone tells me they have 3 degrees, I'm thinking ordinary, 3rd and maybe a masters. Either that or professional student. Anyway, the saying goes.. when you get a first, you don't need a 2nd.

Sounds like the guy lost it and took out his anger/aggression on the nearest target. Like the bloke who's wife says she's leaving him just before he goes out to the pub with his mates on a Saturday night, and kills a guy in the fish and chip shop queue just because he wants a fight. When the wiring of the brain wiring goes funny people act in completely unpredictable and irrational ways.
