Hi all,
I wonder if any of you could offer advice as the best adhesive to use for a project I am carrying out at home. I'm replacing my open fire with a multi fuel stove and want to clad the builders opening with some old York Stone roof slates. Each slate is approximately 600mm x 1000mm and 20-25mm thick. The stone face is a little sandy so I need to take this in to account.
I am unsure as to how to adhere the slates to the brickwork. I need to make sure that the heat produced does not affect the adhesion ability, can I just go ahead and use mortar? I'm hoping some of you experienced guys (or gals) may be able to make a suggestion.
Yours,
Mark
