Clonk noise from hot tap

I have an annoying "clonk" noise when I use the hot water from my basin mixer tap. I don't get the noise when using cold water. The mixer tap has 2 fairly long flexible hoses supplying the hot and cold water to the tap. When the tap is turned to the left for hot water and it is then closed firmly, I get a "clonk". I can feel the "clonk" on the flexible hose but can not isolate where the noise is coming from.

Attached are photos of the flexible hose and the tap (hoped to upload a video but have been unable to).

Any suggestions greatly appreciated. I am tempted to replace the hot flexible hose but can't really see why this would be causing the noise. I do have separate isolation valves just before the flexible hoses are connected.

Thanks.

Try closing it more gently, if it stops you have no issue other than sending a shockwave because of stopping water flowing dead in its tracks.

Thanks.

Yes, if I close the tap on the hot side slowly it does not "clonk". Does this suggest it is a feature of the tap design or do you think I could resolve by changing the flexible hoses? Or is there anything else I could do to stop the annoying "clonk"?

If I set the tap lever to mid way between hot and cold, then close the tap quickly I do not get a "clonk".

Changing the hoses will do nothing other than cost you money. Majority of lever style taps do this. Not sure why it’s not doing it set mid way.

OK thanks. Annoying though because when someone closes the hot tap (downstairs) you can hear the "clonk" around the rest of the house. Definitely doesn't do it on the cold side or mid way between the hot and cold.

Didn't realise that majority of lever style taps do this, so guess I will just have to live with it, or worse case, replace the tap.

Thanks for your help.
