Hi guys, so I have an ‘Exclusive’ combi boiler and for a month or two we’ve noticed it’ll sometimes make a rumbling/growling sound when in use. I’ve put a link below to a short video that shows the sound

From my (limited) research, it seems to point to the gas valve being the problem. Does this seem to be the case? Replacing the gas valve seems pricy, is there anything I can try myself?

How old is the boiler? Is it under warranty? Can only hear it a little.

Gurgling/ rumbling water noises are usually a block in the condensate pipe...Pull the pipe off in a sensible place, with a container under to catch water ..Never known a dodgy gas valve make any noise

@durhamplumber gas valves on these boilers can make noise , but never heard one making that noise with it being the gas valve, the gas valves on these are non-adjustable, and Ideal will not tell you what the settings should be, total shoite I know mate

Another longer video below (where the noise is constant).

Thanks though, will look into the condensate pipe

Long shot, Have you any dripping taps, or issues with the float valve on toilet, or is this constantly making the noise on a heating demand?

Yep! I didn’t think it’s be related but our bath tap is leaking and we’ve been meaning to replace it. Could it be causing this?

Absolutely, if the washers bouncing or if it’s quarter turn. Is it the hot or cold leaking?

To be honest I’m not sure - we have a mixer tap and the leak appears to be in the ‘middle’. Perhaps it’s worth me getting this sorted and seeing if the boiler nosies persist
