Yup there's nothing like a longscrew!Remember , Hemp still allowed for gas . But only on that one fitting
Not the case on both counts mate.I disagree but this argument has been done to death, and you're just a rude angry little man.
Yorkshire kuterlite say use a light oil on the threads and ptfe sealant if necessary with R250 tube and recommends using ptfe sealants with steel and stainless tube with tape as an alternative.
I use Jet lube V2 plus which is WRAS approved for potable/non potable , is a soft setting, non-petroleum based thread sealant for use on metal, plastic (non-ABS), threaded connections for water, bottled and mains gas, compressed air, oils, fuels, refrigerants and most other liquid and gaseous chemicals.
Another 'googler' who has no idea of the trade. Why should we put Boss White (or PTFE) on an olive? Doesn't the olive create the seal?
Your input regarding the plumbing/heating/gas industry should be taken with a pinch of salt...I disagree.

But not on the oliveKuterlite training does mention the use of a drop if light oil on the threads pf the fitting and nut to ease tightening. No mention of Boss White or PTFE tape.
But what do they know, they only make the fittings and never install them.
The mating face between fitting and olive is not always true so a smear of paste is required.Kuterlite training does mention the use of a drop if light oil on the threads pf the fitting and nut to ease tightening. No mention of Boss White or PTFE tape.

So what do you suggest when the fitting supplied utilises a brass olive???.....are you suggesting these brass olives shouldn't be used ?..or more to the point a smear of paste will be required? One that uses decent copper olives and doesn't overtighten everything.
There's no chance these Google Warriors have ever been swinging on a set of 36s Steely, they're full of shyte!!The mating face between fitting and olive is not always true so a smear of paste is required.
I find it amazing when the armchair googlers disagree with the professionals that actually do this for a living....try your method on a 54mm comp fitting and get back to me..
Although the fitting of a long screw is now disallowed.......although a repair can be carried out to an existing long screw with the use of a hemp grommet.Yup there's nothing like a longscrew!
