Hello.
Just before Christmas I was in the attic getting the Christmas decorations and noticed some water droplets on the underside of the felt lining.
The house has a tiled roof with what appears to be like a bitumen felt lining. The ceiling is insulated with fibreglass and foil covered fibreglass rolls.
On inspection there was fibreglass insulation stuffed into the space between the eaves and roof tiles.
I have removed the insulation from the gaps and can now feel air flow in the attic and also added some vents where the lining overlaps to allow the air out.
After doing this it seems that the damp in the attic has got worse. Should I have left the insulation in place to have less ventilation, not installed the vents in the lining or is it just the time of year with snow and cold weather meaning I can expect a damper attic?
Thanks for any insight

The colder it gets outside, the more severe the condensation on the underside of the felt. Sometimes it can be something as silly as a leaky (air) loft hatch.
