Condense drain leaking - Glowworm 12HXI

I noticed a pool of water on the worktop recently and assumed it was jus spilled from the kettle (the boiler is fitted nearby). I also remember this happened a couple of years ago and again at the time, it wasn't a huge amount of water so just assumed my wife has spilled water when filling the kettle etc.

This got worse last night and I finally noticed water dripping from the underside of the boiler.

I opened the unit but haven't touched anything, I did see that the water is dripping from the pipe attached to the siphon adapter and sitting on top of the condense trap. Is there anything I can safely try before calling a plumber?

The drain pipe runs in to the wall but doesn't come out the other side. I did read that if the drain was blocked the boiler would switch off (this has not happened).

Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply.

With the condensate hoses leaking, is it likely to be a fairly low price job, as in will they just fit a new condensate trap or hoses etc (I'm always concerned they'll try to write the boiler off and sell me a new one)

That leak won' t write the boiler off. The repair is one of the least costly.
I can't tell you how much that will be as I won't be the one repairing it. I can tell you that the parts are likely to cost in the region of £40.

I noticed Glow Worm offer a one-off fix for £399.

Is it the condense drain that they'll probably need to replace? (the £399 feels a bit OTT just for that but I'm struggling to get hold of anyone who can come out quickly where I live).

I can see the blue cap underneath is it worth undoing that to see if it clears any debris or will the whole thing need replacing? (I didn't want to touch the cap in case it doesn't go back on).

I wouldn't use Glowworm for that repair. If you post where you are perhaps one of the gassafe guys on here would be interested in repairing it.

Could be that the drain is blocked so backing up. Or that the condy trap is blocked and backing up.

The leak seems to be enough to not back up into the boiler and lock it out.

Or, it's just a worn out hose connection.

Finally got hold of someone who luckily was doing a job on the next road, he's been in and removed the old siphon trap which was full of sludge but also 1 of the pipes was split. He's ordering a new one and coming back.

Weirdly though, he said the float was missing. Has anyone seen that before?

Supposedly according to the manual? (pic attached)

Plumber has been back earlier than expected. New trap has been fitted and everything seemed fine. Leak has stopped most importantly and rads and water heated up....

But weirdly the unit has fired up on its own a few times since he left (and the controller isn't calling for heat) . I turned the boiler off and back on (as per manual instruction how to read pressure and this displays as 8.8, surely this can't be right?)

Yep indeed it has a float!

You're saying pressure gauge is reading 8.8bar?
Best get him back.
