Connecting a double insulated recessed light

Well the CPC wouldn't bend back without breaking the flimsy case so I just removed 4in of sheathing from the 2core&earth cable and just used the two cores to connect the light to the daisy chain. This seems to do the job fine.

Is there enough slack in the cable to allow you to cut it back? You should not have unsheathed conductors outside of the connector enclosure, so you need to re-do them.

Really those lights should be rejected as not fit for purpose if they cannot be installed in a way which complies with the Wiring Regulations.
