Connecting separate cooker and hob

Still use a piece of the red mains wire and use that.

I have to say, that bit of wiring up you have done in the picture looks a bit of a pig's ear.

If you don't mind me saying.

You may find it easier joining the two cables in a junction box, and running a 6mm2 cable from that to the hob.

It may be easier to buy a high current junction box or similar so that you only need run one cable to the hob.
