Connecting the Outlet pipe to the gas meter

I would give a budgetary quote over the phone for that kind of job.

Don't waste time visiting to quote for small jobs.

If there was anything suspicious then I would ask for photos.

Thanks. It's the meter that is being moved rather than the boiler.

My mistake; it was meant to read "meter's new location".

Fook me if you lived closer to me I'd contract my work out to you providing your tidy cos your cheap as chips.

A few 18" walls to drill through would certainly stop you from quoting these ridiculous prices.
.....don't forget the vice as you may have to run the pipework behind soil stack...

There is another question I have and I admit to knowing nothing about this.

The surveyor who drew up the plan for the new meter position wanted to site it near the boiler which is my only gas appliance and sited it outside through the wall from the boiler.

This isn't near the outlet pipe.

Should it be near the outlet pipe?

They can’t move the outlet pipe can they?

Inlet pipe is the one that brings the gas to your meter from the street

Squeezing has to be done very carefully and with precision. Vice essential and not every one is capable of carrying out this task

Well then a Registered gas installer should be able to fix that for a small monetary reward

what are the safety reasons they have given ? and where is the existing meter located

Access to services.

The existing meter is not on my property and a way from the house.

The outlet pipe is in my house but not near the proposed new meter location which is outside through the wall from the boiler which is my only gas appliance.

so you have not requested it and its not something that any building work you have done has caused then the entire job should be free from the moving of the meter to connecting of the outlet pipe . This is how national grid would treat it . I would get back onto them
